Welcome! No Olympics today, as we are celebrating Chinese New Year. We have put up decorations and I’m wearing my Chinese silk jacket for the occasion.
Matilda loves the tiny people in the model of the junk. She thinks one day she might give them names and Twitter accounts and adventures. Dim is not sure anyone would be interested in that sort of thing.
Esther and Hypnovaark are enjoying the decorative lantern, and the way the tassels wave in the breeze.
Now we have the traditional dragon dance. Dim is leading this year. Round about they go…
Whoops! Dim tripped on the bamboo matting! And everyone kept going so they ended up in a big heap. They’re all giggling though, so no harm done.
BANG BANG BANG! Fury has let off the firecrackers! Arnold is always surprised by these, even when he knows they are coming.
Ofelia has particularly sensitive ears, so she’s borrowed Dim’s noise cancelling headphones. She’s fine. I SAID YOU’RE FINE OFELIA, AREN’T YOU?
Now the bit we love best – when we sit down for the feast! We love Chinese food. We are having a special Chow Mein.
Matilda says the noodles remind her of the romantic spaghetti dinner she and Dim had on Valentines Day.
Ernest says chopsticks are easy, like drumsticks, but some of us find it easier to just stick our snozzles in and get slurping!
So, from all of us to all of you, Happy New Year and Gong Hei Fat Choi!
